Hello! My name is Akamie and I am the Founder/ Owner of GEMFIS 2, LLC.

My journey:

My daughter danced on a competitive dance team that traveled to different states throughout the year. I wanted to be able to wear custom gear that represented my daughter and her team. I researched the equipment needed to make clothes and eventually purchased it. I started off making "Dance Mom" gear for myself during competition season and some of the other dance parents loved the look and asked that I make them custom shirts. I was approved by the owner of the dance team and I started to make custom dance gear for the parents. This was the beginning!

When the Pandemic hit in 2020, I was unfortunately furloughed. It was a blessing for me at the same time as I was able to focus on creating a brand and starting my own business. GEMFIS 2, LLC was created!

The meaning:

GEMFIS 2 has 2 different personal meanings to me. I came up with this name by combining part of my zodiac sign and part of my last name together. Also, my favorite number is 2. GEMINI+FISHER+2= GEMFIS 2. GEMFIS is also an acronym which stands for Great Experiences Make Forever Inevitable Smiles. Whenever I think of a great experience, it always brings a smile to my face and I'm guessing it's the same for you!

In addition to designing & customizing clothes, I make custom items to include, mouse pads, coffee mugs, key chains, cutting boards, puzzles, labels, tote bags, aprons, masks and more!. I will also continue to expand on my craft!
